Recent fixes and improvements

The Ubuntu One team has been working hard to fix many of the bugs that subscribers have reported as well as add more great features to the service. We will continue to address more bugs for the next few months leading up to the 10.04 release. Here are a few items that we have recently deployed.

- Fixed problems synchronizing Notes from the Tomboy application. More improvements to the website editing interface to come.

- Enhanced the website to provide easier access to support resources.

- Integrated the service with Ubuntu Single Sign On (Ubuntu SSO). Subscribers can continue to use their Launchpad login credentials. Updates to your account settings (email, password, etc.) can be made the the Ubuntu SSO site or at Launchpad.net.

- Easy link to update your login information (name, email, password) from your Ubuntu One account page.

- Various performance improvements to the website interface for Ubuntu One services.

- Preparation for Ubuntu 10.04 features such as the Ubuntu One Music Store, mobile contacts synchronization, and user-defined folders (synchronize any directory in your home folder).

Detailed release notes are available on the Ubuntu Team Wiki.

    Dear all
I am enthusiastic about your project but:
    1. since you change log in rules I am no longer Poltiser but None Poltiser ;-)
    2. after reinstall of Ubuntu (desktop) I can no longer connect nor descktop nor laptop; connection via Browser (FFox) works well
    3. I lost ability to use tomboy sync…
    Anything I can do?
    Best regards!

Occasionally, I can’t access the files tab, it just showed it is empty, but it will become normal after I refresh it several times.
So, I expect it would be fixed soon.

Poltiser: You can fix #1 by logging into http://www.launchpad.net and updating your profile. This functionality hasn’t quite made it to Ubuntu SSO management at login.ubuntu.com. For #2 and #3, the best thing to do is chat with the developers. Complete details on all of the support options, go to https://one.ubuntu.com/support/. Thanks!
XTao: We’ve noticed it as well. We think we know the source of the problem and will be implementing more infrastructure improvements soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi ! First thanks for your nice work :-)

Then, I’m trying the 9.10 beta ATM (well, not officially the beta, but it’s up to date and is supposed to be released today :), and tried to synchronize a big pictures directory : the ubuntu one synchronization daemon worked for a long time, slowing down the system a lot (hard disk + very high CPU usage).

After about 15 minutes, I decided to remove ubuntu one.
I’m quite concerned about this. Is that a normal behaviour ? Can I help fix it ?

    cheers !

t_u: We are working on a few projects that should help reduce synchronization duration. We woud love your help to improve the service. The best thing to do is to use one of our support options at https://one.ubuntu.com/support/ or chat with us on IRC (#ubuntuone on freenode). Thanks!
